AMERON Luzern Hotel Flora

Hotel staff gave me a room on the 5th floor with the view of the court yard that was quiet, as I requested it. Another thing I like was the AC, or air conditioning. It’s needed when Lucerne has an occasional heat wave, but we did not really need it as temp was in the low 60s in mid Sept. However we still use it to make the room cool and less humid. This provided good sleeping environment. But I must say the AC control is not user friendly. It was hard to figure out how to use the adjustment control. Breakfast selection was not like Hilton but it provided enough food option to satisfy one’s hunger. Capacino coffee was good. As a coffee lover, this is very good in my book. Lastly one young lady hotel front desk staff that served us was friendly and has a good positive attitude. Many hotel lacks that so it was refreshing to experience it.

Breakfast was not included and would’ve been $25 CHF extra per person per day. The location was easy and close to the train station. The staff friendly and professional. A restaurant attached which we ate in one evening, expensive but good food. Complimentary mini bar included in our room.

Excellent location. Tucked away down a side street, the hotel was only a few metres from riverside, bridges and the old town on one side and a short walk from the train station on the other. The room was quite spacious and everything worked well. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. The foyer had a cosy fire and seating area which looked like a comfortable place to have a drink with friends.

It's close to the station and the lake. It's easy to find. All you need is to locate the Chapel Bridge and its tower, and you won't get lost. The staff is very helpful. They will recommend good food choices and show you the key attractions on the map. The map is very clear, too. The room is spacious, and the best is their pillows. I have tried four hotels / airbnb during the swiss trip. They provide the best pillows, not too soft or hard. There is sparkling water as complimentary, which is a surprise. If you need hot water, you can ask for an electronic kettle.

plus points: early check in especially after a long travel day. shower temp and pressure was perfect. duvet that kept me warm at night. windows can be opened for fresh air. additional neck pillows can be requested. housekeeper noticed that i didn’t touch the bottle of sparkling water but had bought my own evian, and the next day, replaced it with still water. chips and orange juice everyday.
